How to use StructSketch
Navigate the 3D view
Right-drag or drag empty canvas in Select mode to orbit. Use the wheel to zoom and Shift + right-drag to pan. Choose Plan, Front, or Side for orthographic views.
Build a frame
Open Structure mode, choose a work plane, and draw members with grid, node, and axis snapping. Add supports and loads from the tool panel. Select a member to review or change its material, section, releases, and preliminary design settings.
Read results
StructSketch reruns the deterministic linear analysis after model changes. Use the result controls for deformation, bending moment, shear, axial force, torsion, reactions, checks, and deflection. Load combinations and envelopes are available from the menu.
Save and report
Export or import the complete notebook as JSON, export a MIDAS Gen MGT model, or create current-page and all-page PDF files from the menu.
Tablet controls
One finger uses the active tool; two fingers pan and pinch to zoom. The floating navigation controls switch between orbit and pan and can fit the model to the view.
Safety
This application performs linear static analysis and simplified screening checks. It does not include complete code verification, connection design, local or global buckling design, lateral-torsional buckling, or second-order effects.
